New #Plushtodon colours now available for pre-orders on our shop! This is a way to support our work and get a squishy friend at the same time.

It is past midnight, but it has been a productive day. I've restored most of our living space and moved the leftover parts back to the garage in three consolidated boxes. I want to clean the carpet this coming Friday, so this is good timing.

restic + Backblaze is working, sort of. There's something wrong with my shell script. I couldn't get it to read backup scope properly from a file through --files-from, but replacing the argument with a simple backup for a single file worked. Running the same argument outside of the shell script also worked.

Anyway, I'll figure it out. Just need to sleep and wake up again.

Taiwan could learn from this, too

I installed Ubuntu 26.04.1. Everything seems OK. There was an error message at boot, 'RDSEED32 is broken. Disabling the corresponding CPUID bit.' I am going to ignore it.

So many things are done over the Web these days, so one of my first steps was to get LibreWolf. I only had to copy over my profile folder to retain all settings.

Wifey is raiding tonight, so I don't want to eat up the bandwidth. I'll download the games overnight (WoW, BG3, Big Walk).

I'll look at restic tomorrow, after a good night's rest, which will be difficult until I have backups set up. And then I'll deal with the cables, boxes, screws, parts, moving things in and out of the garage, etc., when I am tired in the afternoon.

Little one asked if they would be getting the PC (my old one) tomorrow. I had to say no. I still have so much to do. I am aiming for next weekend, realistically. But the goal is to get the new PC in my room tomorrow for daily use; and my old one to the dining table, which I have commandeered for now.

Good night, masto.

Small talk👀

Ha ha, welp, it's raining again in Aztec. I guess I'm catching up on not experiencing rain for 39 years while living in Reno. (I exaggerate, but only a little.) The best part is I can hear it on the roof of my trailer! My old house had a concrete tile roof and I don't think you could hear a plane landing on it let alone the few rare Reno raindrops. ☔

I got a few hours of sleep. Shaved, ate breakfast, had coffee. I am now at Micro Center hoping to walk out with a working computer today 🤞🏼

Now that I am here.. maybe one more fan?

So, the first day of my long weekend spent on putting this together. It’s not POSTing, and I can’t figure out why. My fingers are sore, especially my thumbs. I am just curling up next to the light on my favourite chair now.

@dale You open your notification and find me, three years late, stumbling into the café by chance. I've read your intro more than twice. I'm still holding my phone, trying to find a better word than "love" and failing, so I borrow your style and try stringing some English together instead. Nothing fancy, I'm not that ambitious. I walk over to your corner by the light, point at your notebook, and say I really really like this. hello. :blackcat_2323234:

Happy International Lesbian Day, from VGAPride!
Here's one of the many lesbian pride flags (the 5-stripe variant of the "sunset" flag).

Ghostbusters let’s go!

yay!

The followers’ thread is such an awkward implementation. I don’t know if this is masto or fedi. I’d expect the followers’ thread, i.e., a discussion thread where everyone involved is using the followers only visibility setting, to be made visible only to the OP’s pool of followers; and for subsequent responses to use the subset of OP’s followers and responder’s followers. In reality, it seems to use the followers of each individual poster, which just isn’t natural to real conversations.

Happy to report that all the spiders in the garage are working hard putting up the appropriate seasonal decorations

Launching the Discord app feels like walking into a casino.

All the parts are here! I am so excited. We have a company event tomorrow night - watching 1984 Ghostbusters under the stars. And then my long weekend begins with the build.

Also got a Samsung G55C monitor for wifey. She’s happy with it, so I am happy.

Saw this little guy during our after lunch stroll, who rushed to the curb to lie prone to (presumably) cool down from the heat.
