Some of you have been asking whether or not Vivaldi is affected by Chrome’s #AI API, which some websites are using for tracking purposes. The answer is straight-forward: no. ✌️
As part of our philosophy to reject built-in AI features, we've been disabling all the Gemini-related code bundled in Chromium for a long while — which effectively prevents websites from using this API in Vivaldi.

@Vivaldi I saw @thelinuxEXP's browser video today. It made me reconsider vivaldi as my chromium-based browser, next to librewolf as my firefox-based browser. I used ungoogled chromium until now but it never really felt right for me. Gonna give Vivaldi a try :-)

@Vivaldi I’d not heard of Vivaldi browser before I saw this post. I’m impressed with the friendly replies you took the time to post to users comments, and the patience with which you resisted rising to replies from antagonists shouting you down for who knows what reasons. I’m going to install Vivaldi browser now on my recent Linux Mint OS which I switched to, to get off Windows. I’ve been using Firefox as it was preinstalled, but was looking for a Chromium based option alongside it.
