Picked up this sticker at a show last night. I think I'm too old to actually translate this but I get it and it sums up my attitude.

Did you know that the Open University has a whole library of free courses? In lots of different subjects and different levels, introductory, intermediate and advanced. Some long, some short. Some of them "badged" and assessed. Some are based on content from modules of the OU's degree courses.

If you're into building a personal curriculum, it's a great resource.

As I warned about months ago now, I can confirm that Google Chrome's #AI API is now actively being used for device fingerprinting and tracking purposes.

Out of 100 of the top global english language content sites - around 30% are actively using the API for fingerprinting, Google Advertising (profiling) or both) without the legally required consent (EU law).

New from Gaige Davila: “If ICE is going to act with criminal impunity, why should we cooperate with them at all? But it’s not just my choice, right? It’s the choice of council. It’s the choice of the community whether this is going to be the line in the sand we draw to say ‘no more cooperation.’” https://www.texasobserver.org/wilber-garces-perez-shooting-ice-out-of-austin/

Today I interacted with some people who had the light gone from their eyes and the tone in their voices crushed flat by the world.

It took me a while to piece it together, and then it scared me.

If you're feeling anything right now, even if it is something kind of terrible, it gives me a strange bit of hope because we're still out here feeling things despite it sometimes being so damned hard.

Keep going. <3

There is a mythology around Texans being rough, rugged, outdoors types. The truth is there's very little public land. This makes Big Bend a precious resource. It's great to get some kind of good news for a change, although it's not over.

Never mind us, just two dudes chatting up drone metal in the middle of Bath & Bodyworks

When you're a live music addict and take your teen to the first concert *they* wanted to go to, they see a friend up front, and leave you behind (with my encouragement).... my little bird is flying.

Yes, I have a tear in my eye.

USPS says the cameras, put on USPS truck dashboards, will scan roads, signs, and more.

🏚️An abandoned house somewhere in rural England, largely untouched since its last occupant left.

The house features a traditional vintage English bedroom. The decor is a mix of 1940s/1950s items. There are numerous clocks and pocket watches, as well as a vintage Jones sewing machine.

This release now finally also rolls out the native macOS .app download for Faircamp 2 – you can get it here: https://faircamp.org/download.html

A big thank you goes to @cpacaud, @jpburstrom, @Shrike and https://guesst.net/, whose contributions and feedback made this swift patch release possible. \(^ヮ^)/

My qualifications for herding goats:

1. A goat tried to eat my shirt as a kid thus teaching me their power.
2. We had a pet goat that we (or at least I) would let inside the house. He ate the house plants.
3. Hail satan
4. I can herd cats.

My goats would just be mowers-for-hire

Me: "Our access to github.com is blocked?"
Management: "Yes, due to the supply chain attack" (legit)
Me: "I was just trying to read sources for [a dependency]"
Management: "Use Claude as references" (I die inside)
Me: "I was trying to verify Claude output..."

I really just need to become a bonsai farmer, goat herder, or whatever.
