Oh and I also bought the pink one! They are also available in a more understated white.
Apparently they can link together and play the same output from one source! Not tested that yet.

Linking them worked! Funny, why not. Not stereo though, I guess?
Another thing is that their startup and Bluetooth connection noises are very hifi but also unnervingly human and satisfied sounding.
Some deep sighs come out of this thing. It's a little too sensual 😳
@sarajw No, not stereo. But a lot of concerts aren't either unless you can hear the mix from the stage. As far as the sensual goes, I guess IKEA's producers go the extra mile... ;>)
@wendigo ha, no that's true
@sarajw I want these now 😄
@RobBlackburn only now you heard their sexy little sighs? 😆
@sarajw well, I love the bleeps and bloops, and the sighs, well… I just love it when someone has even thought about sound design in their product or app and it’s not just run-of-the-mill boring. Even it is a bit dubious sighing 😆
@RobBlackburn fair enough!
All the rest of the sounds are very nice, I just find the sighs a little too "je t'aime"
@sarajw 👀🤣
@sarajw oh that's superb, love all the subtle bongs, much nicer than "generic bluetooth woman" voice. 😍
@ivor I guess so. I have another Bluetooth gadget that says "connected" in a disarmingly breathy voice.
I'm not keen. I don't need sexy woman voices in my stuff.
@sarajw That is so Douglas Adams robots and doors. :D
@johnnythan it's very much that, yes! I'm one step from telling them to stop it.
This satisfied sigh you get when inserting the USB-C connector for charging makes me feel a little dirty afterwards
@sarajw only thing i can think of...
@TagHunt oh no hahahaha I'd forgotten about those abominations
@sarajw Eugh!
@amyisard yeah it's a bit much 😅
@sarajw I happen to have the HItchhiker’s Guide original radio version and here is a clip of the first door sigh
Ford: […] a new generation of Sirius Cybernetics Corporation robots and computers, with the new GPP feature
Arthur: GPP, what’s that?
Ford: It says Genuine People Personalities
Arthur: Sounds ghastly
Door: <opens> <sighs>
@amyisard hahahaha. Oof.
@amyisard it is basically the same though
@sarajw It's like someone heard the SNCF jingle (the sound version of Frutiger Aero) and decided to one-up the current boring standard of voices saying "connected" when turning on Bluetooth headphones, but went a bit overboard. 😅
@sarajw Oh my!
@justine yeah those instructions are useless!
Once one of them is connected to your sound source, on another one press and hold the play button for a good while, even after the first wave of reaction noises. Eventually there's a sort of blip blip and the new speaker will play from the same source.
@justine you're welcome!
@sarajw Those Bluetooth sighs sound a little too convincing 😂
