Ah meh, looks like US banks are shutting down accounts from EU holders due to some EU law getting effective in January.
Same thing EU banks already do to US people to be fair.
How are people dealing with this? Any US banks that are willing to deal with the EU laws? #banking

@reestr No idea, what does it provide? Sounds a little like Wise, but e.g. Wise doesn‘t provide a US CC.
@helge I just use a multi currency account for wire transferring USD when I need to and then converting it to EUR. It’s better than what Fidelity and other institutions charge to wire to a EUR account.
@reestr That sounds like Wise. But what I actually would like to have is a regular US bank account and CC. That worked for a long time but apparently is going to disappear for non residents.
@helge I still have my Bank of America account from back in the days. So far they didn’t act up because of changes in EU l laws.
Do you know which law in particular?
@ullrich Seems to be "CRD VI, Article 21c", whatever that is. I assume reporting requirements they don't want to fulfill.
Would be interesting whether you also get a letter from BoA.
