    Shouldn't we maybe try to get organised and at least tell our bosses that what happened to the ICC means that we must not rely on Microsoft products entirely?

    @clemens And services provided by US companies more generally, as the US government can pressure any of them similarly should it have the desire. Microsoft is hardly unique in this regard. But over the last few decades, there's been a worrying amount of consolidation in that direction....

    I'm absolutely appalled that when that happened there wasn't an immediate announcement by at least half of the EU governments on divesting from Microsoft software...

    And to this day it's baffling that more hasn't been done in that direction.

    @jfdm At this stage I don't think our job is already to point out obviously available alternatives. The key point to get across is that the current setup is highly risky, unethical and thus *requires* changing.
