Missiles exploding in #Kyiv #RussiaIsATerroristState

President #Zelenskyy

💬 "russians struck a power station in Kyiv with a ‘Shahed’ drone, causing power cuts in many areas. Later, there were strikes on energy infrastructure in the Kharkiv region. And this was AFTER the US President’s announcement of an energy ceasefire."

Shouldn't we maybe try to get organised and at least tell our bosses that what happened to the ICC means that we must not rely on Microsoft products entirely?

🙏 The number of casualties from the Russian airstrike in Zaporizhzhia has risen to 32, with 20 people killed

Today, Russia expressed its thanks for the lifting of sanctions on diesel exports by dropping five glide bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia. As of now, sadly, twelve people have been confirmed killed, including three children. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Another fourteen people have been injured, and two of them are in critical condition – the doctors are fighting to save their lives. The status of twelve more people who may have been there is still being verified. All emergency services are at the scene, and search-and-rescue operations are underway. Overnight, thirteen of our regions came under attack. Residential buildings, infrastructure, and railway facilities have been damaged.

Last night confirmed once again that in Russia, they take any easing of pressure to mean they can keep fighting, to mean they can keep dropping bombs on cities. Different signals are needed. Russia must understand that it needs to stop the war, and for that to happen, Russia must feel its losses. Right now, it is our long-range capabilities that are ensuring this. And we will respond to Russian strikes. I thank everyone who is helping.

Some people will tell you "Have a good trip" when they actually mean "Please do not tell us where you are going and spare us any details about the situation there". It's just particularly sad if those people happen to be your "closest" relatives. 🤷‍♂️

I'm including anyone from the US into my personal sanctions list until they are getting rid of that fascist creep.

The US just sanctioned the entire International Criminal Court. Banks froze accounts, US tech vendors cut off licenses and updates, and YouTube pulled 700+ videos of possible war crime evidence. ⚖️

If one executive order can switch off a court, your family photos aren't safe on American clouds either. 🇪🇺

It's been a good day in Glasgow but I'm thinking back to #Kyiv and I'm both sad and happy. Sad about the poor state of affairs in terms of Russian attacks and lack of genuine support. Happy because I am privileged to have met the most amazing people there. How can we help them? I do not know but I know that I want to try harder. #SupportUkraine

Vale Margaret Hamilton.
She was a Software Engineer.
She was the _first_ Software Engineer because she defined the term, Software Engineering:
"When I first came up with the term, no one had heard of it before, at least in our world. It was an ongoing joke for a long time. They liked to kid me about my radical ideas. It was a memorable day when one of the most respected hardware gurus explained to everyone in a meeting that he agreed with me that the process of building software should also be considered an engineering discipline, just like with hardware. Not because of his acceptance of the new 'term' per se, but because we had earned his and the acceptance of the others in the room as being in an engineering field in its own right."

Margaret Hamilton led the Software Engineering team at MIT that created the software that ran NASA's Apollo Guidance Computer. The photo of her standing next to a stack of source code printouts — that's her work, and she was essential to NASA's mission of landing people on the Moon for the first time ever and getting them back to Earth again safely.

Find the usual #ScotRail bug....

I am not a misanthrope. My hate is very selective. #morningtrain

That excel "feature" that you can't open two files which happen to have the same name at the same time will never stop to surprise me.

Доброго ранку #Edinburgh

Taxi driver in Wroclaw was so typical for our times: in principle, very nice, entertaining chap, interested in learning languages. But the brain rot from social media was completely obvious and is probably irreversible. Apparently it's completely normal for all Ukrainians to take drugs and Germany is nowadays very unsafe. 🤬🤬 Especially the first part is shocking and depressing after travelling for 24h all the way from beautiful #Kyiv.

There is good and bad news: the bad news is that I once again woke up because of an explosion, the good news is that there was no explosion, it was entirely imaginary, my brain playing tricks on me.
