Nothing like an Ubuntu 22.04 -> 24.04 upgrade on a machine 5800 km away and everything upgraded fine... except the Wireguard vpn never came back up so I'm locked out of the system now.

Why does do-release-upgrade in Ubuntu have to be so painful? Anyone know how to make sure Wireguard comes up? It seems to be both in /etc/wireguard/wg0.conf with one of those wg0@quick systemd script thingies but it's also showing up in NetworkManager but it's locked.

    wg-quick up ...
    systemd wg-quick@wg0.service
    NetworkManager

Which one of these will actually make the Wireguard work? What an absolute mess. The wg-quick@wg0 WAS working on 22.04 just fine with no issues, then Ubuntu had to screw it all up for 24.04. I bet it's broken in some other way in 26.04.

@pertho oof. Man that sucks. Unfortunately I don’t have any advice; just commiseration 😂 I’ve had several weird issues with Debian / Ubuntu server upgrades over the years.
