there are a lot of musically literate people on feddy so I know u can answer my question intelligently, which is why is jazz so passionately hated by so many people who are music lovers?

@falcennial I’m musically illiterate, in that I don’t read music or play an instrument. I couldn’t tell a B sharp from a D flat, because I don’t know what that means. But I love music so much. So, I can’t tell you why people don’t like it, but I can tell you I like, and those may be things that bother other people.

I like the chaos, I like the notes that aren’t played, the riffs that are implied, the change of tempo, the surprise trill, the unexpected stop...it’s unpredictable and alive, and even recordings aren’t the same every time, because you’re listening with different ears. Jazz is the musical river you can never cross twice.
