Watching the replay at the half, Navarro *CLEARLY* points at Hernandez on the ground, there's no doubt it was an intentional foul. We can debate red versus yellow, but there's no way that wasn't a carding.

We're time-delayed, but that no-penalty decision on Navarro putting Hernandez into the boards was BULLSHIT. #rctid

Finished: Daggerbound, and a good read it was. Looking forward to the third in the series.

On top of everything else, heartsick about events in Bend today

One thing about getting Hops: I had forgotten how much stupid fun a laser pointer plus a kitten is

How long until they find somebody from her Pepperdine class who’s willing to bring the tea?

Current status: the heat has been turned on for the first time this season. (Pour a little out, but also October 11th just might be a record...)

Hops has had his first vet visit and been issued a clean bill of health!

RIP Margaret Hamilton, absolute programming legend.

Area cat update: he has figured out how to walk such that the bell on his collar doesn't ring, making him effectively invisible. This will be _FINE_ I am sure.

Used about half the chanterelles to make this recipe (more or less) for dinner tonight, served over some tagliatelle (which I know isn't "right" but it was delicious, shut up).

Other half I just salted, dry sauted the water out, and am freezing for later use.

Recipe is _RECOMMENDED_

One of the things that makes me love CHVRCHES unreservedly is things like:

“And the mess we made on Fridays /
Gave me Sundays on my knees”

which is about three different levels of brilliant lyric.

@ChrisShort JFYI, I got the email about issue 329, but https://devopsish.com/329 is throwing a 404 right now.

A(n extraordinarily kind!) local friend gifted us a whole boat load of chanterelles — which I've never had the chance to cook with before. Have been advised to dry saute the liquid out and then brown in butter and white wine, and then they can be frozen, but also looking for recipes — pls send faves!

Okay, last Ted Lasso was a gut punch, particularly when followed by the memoriam for Anthony Head 😢

Follow-up: slept most of the day, took some advil because it was 24 hours after the jabs, finally showered, having some hot-and-sour soup for a very late lunch. Starting to kinda sort feel human again although I’m also probably laying back down for a bit after this food.

So, the combined flu + COVID jabs kinda have a kick this year...
