if you're a commercial company in software and security, it's probably a bad thing when a hacking tool uses your company name for one of it's options...

once again, just giving a basic 8th grade civics and government test would eliminate idiots like this... that's not even vaguely close to what socialism is, even the theoretical poli/sci definition.
he knows better. he's just throwing red meat to his base and pandering to his boss.

it's so frustrating when the SCOTUS judge you bought and paid for doesn't stay bought and paid for...

"Claiming that “nobody cares” about Khamenei’s funeral, Trump said he expects the turnout at his funeral to set records, noting, “Every day, people say to me, ‘Sir, I can’t wait for that day to come.’”
oh, i'd bet there are millions and millions of folks worldwide eagerly awaiting the day...

i would pay serious money to have been a fly on the wall at the meeting where someone proposed this and others decided this was a great idea.
been a week... earlier this week, worked out some stress pounding cutlets really, really flat with a hammer.
today, it's pounding a pestle into a mortar filled with basil, pine nuts, garlic, pecorino, salt, olive oil. it also just smells amazing.
suspect a negroni will somehow have to happen as the pasta boils.
have been getting all my various tools (woodworking, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, jewelry, luthiery) from the gazillion places i have them into something organized by function. nearly there, but just got my covid booster today and my enthusiasm level has plummeted to "wonder if a beer and a nap is a bad idea". definitely sounds more appealing than moving the new tool chests out to the garage.

having rfkjr defending someone's sanity is like having charles manson testifying to someone's peaceful nature.

trump truth store shuttered.
he's bankrupted two casinos. what sucker would believe he couldn't tank a simple online store.
guess he's out of what little truth he ever had.

schumer once again showing all the spine of a jellyfish and as much use to the american people as a cancelled check.
we need to primary every democratic encumbant and send those folks not willing to fight fascism home, where they can be useless without screwing over the rest of us.
to honor the memory and numerous achievements of rob reiner, we are watching "princess bride" and eating the fruitcake i made a couple of weeks ago.
was putting on a shirt this morning and it reminded me of "dead company shirt day" that we used to do early in IETF. the game was to wear a tshirt or vendor wear from some company that didn't exist any more.
the shirt this morning is from a company formed in 1998 and gone since 2004. the shirt has held up much better. ;)
so, what is the oldest dead company vendor wear you still wear?
(by dead, i mean that name is no longer an active product/trademark/company)
making a basic marinara but playing a bit with some additions. rather than just sugar and tomato paste, i'm cutting back on tomato paste and putting in some dark muscovado sugar. also added just a hint of liquid smoke. doing gochugaru rather than red pepper flakes.
not sure how italians would react but initial tasting is very promising. i'm sure it will be even better tomorrow.
made some refried beans for dinner and put in an order to ranchogordo.com to restock various beans.
think it was @carlmalamud who first recommended them to me but they are good folks and have really good beans.
time for #introduction, it seems.

started doing internet stuff in the USAF just as ARPANET was becoming internet/MILNET.
have done ISP, large scale mail/DHCP/DNS/routing, UNIX sysadmin. always wound up having security as an added bonus rather than as my job.
current life goal: keep the internet glued together for just a few more years so i can honestly say "i never had a real job in my adult life; i just worked on the internet". :)
massively into any musical instrument w strings & frets. into playing/building/repairing same.
