Many interactions on mastodon are like:
Me: Wow, my microwaved popcorn was too hot and I burnt my tongue!
Responder A: You could maybe put the popcorn inside a bucket made of ice to quickly cool it.
Me: I don't want to do that and I also don't have any buckets made of ice.
Responder B: A bucket of ice can be made by putting water between an inner form and an outer form and freezing it.
Me: Ok, but I don't want to do that and it would also take many hours to freeze the water. I am eating popcorn right now.
Responder C: Liquid nitrogen will freeze water in as little as a few seconds and can be purchased at many welding-gas suppliers

@dnkboston These kind of interactions happen to me a lot. Sometimes the respondents will get going with each other, bouncing ever more unrealistic and complicated ideas off each other while keeping me tagged in the whole thing

@MLE_online The only thing I think I leave an opening for is software stuff, but I've shot enough easy solutions down that I think people know not to bother. Someone did get a little...this way with me earlier this week, but no one tag-teamed, so it wasn't so bad.

@MLE_online Why wouldn't you just dunk the popcorn directly into the liquid nitrogen? (A thing that ordinary people without occupational access to cryogenic liquids would do.) Or maybe install NetBSD on your popcorn maker? Or 3D print a centrifugal popcorn cooler that is suspiciously close to a salad spinner?

@MLE_online Responder D (that's me) relax, thermodynamic will do its work in quick time, convection is quite efficient, maybe just increase the flow of air around the popcorn.
Also, probably good to keep some cold water in your mouth for a bit to appease the burn.
Look, that was supposed to be a joke but i might have a problem.
