My Dad needs a new TV, and I’m worried he’s going to end up being sold some adware or spyware. He’s going to Curry’s (UK) so he can see what the picture on them is like. Anyone able to recommend good TVs made by trustworthy companies?
He won’t go anywhere else, despises computers and will view my concerns as being paranoid nonsense, so please no “just use Linux and knit your own media server” stuff please. 😅
@aegir I've not bought anything from them, so you'd need to check them out for yourself, but there is a British company that makes not smart TVs.

I bought a non-smart JVC from Currys last July. They had at least two non-smart JVCs there. They're pretty cheap, but I'm very happy with mine. I had a look at their website just now and couldn't see them, but you could ask. Mine is a JVC LT-32C490, but they did have another non-smart JVC as well.
