We've said a lot about the current leaders, but a little gem in case you're wondering about the history.
Anyyyyhow, your favorite Anthropic so-called whistleblower's media blitz was organized by MIRI.
Let's not even forget about the Future of Life Institute and the type of money they've given organizations like Lighthaven and stuff.
FLI is the one organizing Bernie Sanders's alliance with Steve Bannon and all that to supposedly stop the existential risks to humanity from machine gods.
These men sure seem like people concerned with "existential risks."
@timnitGebru This is a great thread, thanks for laying *all this* out.
PS Don't even get me started with Bernie Sanders. 😑
@timnitGebru What? Steve Bannon? I think Steve Bannon is a far-right, while Sanders is to the opposite. Or is it sarcasm?
@elettrona @timnitGebru
They are gathering together like a rock supergroup. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/09/15/us/steve-bannon-bernie-sanders-ai.html
@paurea @timnitGebru I was assuming that Sanders was one of few real dems in the USA. But allyship with the worst far-right means no trust
@elettrona @paurea @timnitGebru
He's just another sheepdog, as Chris Hedges was already warning us in 2016. No one with real integrity intact is allowed anywhere near that level of power.
@elettrona @paurea @timnitGebru Bernie is compromised.
@dalias this is who Bernie has been for as long as I've known about him. Bernie has a great stump speech and cares about reigning capitalist exploitation but isn't a great manager of staff or judge of character and is easily influenced in areas outside his personal focus.
It should not be forgotten that Paul Manaforts partner in consulting ran Bernies 2016 campaign, the Russians were influencing _both_ Bernie and Trump to ensure Clinton wasnt elected, and im not sure Bernie ever realized he was the mark in a con which makes me question his judgment tbh.
@timnitGebru I've loathed Sanders for a decade. I'm just surprised he's being so open about his bs now.
He's just like any other politician, and I hope the bros who couldn't shut up about how exceptional he is will crawl back under their rocks now.
I just want to see the deposit receipts because I'm very, very petty.
@timnitGebru oh do we have the smoking gun on Coxon being MIRI specifically? I was sure it was a Tallinn/ControlAI op
