indeed
social media for a certain age group has become an abattoir for mental health. with the storefront of a carnival ride. and older generations waltz into the grift, oblivious
the younger generations see what's going on
they are being immunized to social media psyop campaigns. while their parents and grandparents turn into fucking braindead zombies

Really? Last time I looked, the Joe Rogan Andrew Tates of the world were propelling Trump to victory.
#Ageism is a narrative used to divide us.
Recognize it and call it out.
There are people from every generation on every side of the political spectrum. Find ways to unify, not divide.

I am old
What you say is true. And what I say is true. There is no need to position both of our points as enemies of each other

this is true.
I am on a bit of a rage about it today, because I'm seeing it crop up everywhere and it is already impacting lives.
It isn't that some generalizations are correct, or that segments of the population aren't responsible for certain things, but being cognizant that it can also be a tool to dehumanize or undermine people is important.

Don't forget the millennial billionaires.
Is Zuckerberg old?

@AnnieBuddy @argv_minus_one @lilithsaintcrow
no
but he's rigged the perfect mind eating machine for the old people who are not as savvy about social media psyop as young people are
not to say some old people don't get it. i do. you do
and not to say some young people don't fall for it
but it is neither controversial nor ageist to point out that more people in the younger generations, steeped in social media, see what many older people do not

I liked a term Pirsig used in 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' (good book, has aged well)The term was 'dialectic knife'. Slicing things in half for discussion.
We could choose a variety of knives. We could say men wanted Trump as easily as olds, or whites and get roughly the same truthiness.
Dialectics can be useful but like any knife, should be handled with care.
