I love old newsreel footage. Here's some terrifying footage of the first ballistic missile being test flown, let's put some strings over it with some dramatic bits every so often while a man with a strong accent tells you how it'll come for your firstborn.
I love this logic.
At my old smaller house, Zigbee was unreliable as anything. Constant dropped connections and delays between things happening.
New house? Rock solid. So solid it’s irritatingly good and making me question if the posh new matter/thread/whatever they use devices are worth it.
WHY!? I’m guessing it’s to do with the fewer WiFi networks and other 2.4GHz noise?
Does anyone have any good (bluetooth) mice recommendations?
I currently have a two, maybe three year old Microsoft Bluetooth Ergonomic Mouse that's got a borked left click (great longevity, you cheap turds, this cost me £60!) so I want something about that size and shape.
Back and forward buttons are mandatory!
Latest reason to hate discord: it takes forever to open settings when it's on anything less than a superfast (i.e > 50mbps) broadband connection. It took 20 seconds to pull the settings panel up (to turn off those awful Halloween sounds) on my current 25mpbs connection.
Seems like there's been another buffer stop collision... This time derailing a few cars at Liverpool Street Stn.
Waiting to see what comes of the RAIB report...
Does anyone know of an alternative to DEVONThink that can do good document OCR management/tagging?
I tried to use NVIVO but holy that is such a can of worms that I don't think is quite suited for what I want...
I'm on a Mac btw!
Anyone wonder why on the shorter 8 car Class 700's first constitutes about 12% of all seats (6% if it's only the front car), while on the longer it only contributes 7% (or about 3.5% if front only)? Surely you'd either scale or better ditch first class.
Also this 700 sounds like it has a lil bit of a flat wheel...

I notice when on CG-NAT connections, I seem to get hit hard with captchas for “your network is sus” more and more often.
IPv6 when?
Update.
I have acquired a Tado one as it works over matter. I can get that set up on Friday.
Mix of HomeAssistant plus Apple HomeKit for bridging it in.
Found a phone number. Can't get through to anyone because we don't have an order/account.
This thermostat is going in the bin. What an absolute joke of the century.
Hive heating is a joke and quite frankly they are begging me to trash the system.
Speed updates.
It's magically gone up to about 50 down, between 6 and 10 up...
I'm not impressed, but I'm also semi-impressed that a cheap £90 TP Link 4G router I got from Argos a few years back to supply a basic connection to my grandparents is pullign so well.
Microsoft. Remove the stupid "email reactions" feature from your crap email client. I am fed up of receiving emails going "X reacted to your message" and some stupid thumbs up emoji.
It's disgusting and I find it insulting that you are encouraging users to send a thumbs up rather than an actual response. I'd prefer NO RESPONSE than this.
And to the people who use it, please stop. No response is fine. You don't need to "react". This is email, not teams!
I was able to check "vacuum room" off super early today and i'm happy
you are a BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY JUST DO YOUR JOB AND WORK 🤬
This may have been sparked by a recent experience with WhatsApp being unable to sync between my mac and phone.
Just. Work. Damn. You.

Ya know what irritates me the most about this? The fact that companies like Discord, WhatsApp etc. all are raking it in, yet provide buggy, slow and bloated crap.
Meanwhile the local transfem with an ibm thinkpad from 20 years ago knocks out a solid open source project in an afternoon without any ai help after necking a monster and going to town. That app will be near bug free and stable af, not to mention built with some native ui kit that just works!
