I am on a bit of a rage about it today, because I'm seeing it crop up everywhere and it is already impacting lives.
It isn't that some generalizations are correct, or that segments of the population aren't responsible for certain things, but being cognizant that it can also be a tool to dehumanize or undermine people is important.

I liked a term Pirsig used in 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' (good book, has aged well)
The term was 'dialectic knife'. Slicing things in half for discussion.
We could choose a variety of knives.
We could say men wanted Trump as easily as olds, or whites and get roughly the same truthiness.
Dialectics can be useful but like any knife, should be handled with care.
