RemSound 6.2 is out.

What's new:

Listen in a web browser. Hear what your RemSound sends from a browser on another computer, with nothing to install there. Handy at work, where you can't install RemSound. It goes through Tailscale Funnel, behind a password of your own, and the page has volume, pan and a three-band EQ. Up to four people can listen at once, and each browser keeps its own settings.

Audio cues for each profile. a jamming profile can stay quiet while another keeps every sound. Keyboard clicks go with the profile too, and one switch now turns every audio cue off.

Smoother hand-over between RemSound and the send-only service on a server, and phones and older apps no longer wait up to a minute for their place. Server owners: server-v2.17 is out too, and the built-in updater installs it within the hour.

RemSound updates itself, or download RemSound-v6.2.zip from https://github.com/Ednunp/RemSound/releases/tag/v6.2

RemSound 6.1 is out. What's new:
• A metronome, shared on a server so you all jam at the same time.
• Push to talk: hold, double tap, or let your voice open it.
• Hear yourself through the server to test your latency.
• Server status, and a warning before you join an out-of-date server.
• Lower delay when both ends use ASIO.
• Mute received audio, with a hotkey.
Server-v2.16 is out too; servers update themselves.
Update from Help, Check for updates, or download it here: https://github.com/Ednunp/RemSound/releases/latest

RemSound 6.0 is out. What's new:
• A DAW plugin: send a track to your peers, or bring peers onto their own tracks to record and mix.
• Press F1 on any control for help on just that control.
• Accept connections automatically, or be asked, when someone with your password connects.
• Servers for more than two: everyone on your password meets in one place, each with their own volume, EQ and recording track.
If you already have Remsound installed, update from Help, Check for updates, or download it here: https://github.com/Ednunp/RemSound/releases/latest

RemSound v5.3 is here.
RemSound streams live audio between PCs with almost no delay — built for remote jamming, monitoring and collaboration.
Some of our new features:
• Per-person volume, pan and EQ — shape each connected person independently in your mix for live jamming for example.
• Send a single application's sound instead of your whole audio device, keeping the rest of your PC private.
• A new lock-screen service: hear a machine that's switched on but not yet signed in. The service is clever enough to get out of the way when the RemSound app is activated, and then come back in when you're done.

RemSound v5.0 is out!
A free, fully accessible Windows app for sending live audio between multiple computers over local networks or the internet — low latency, end-to-end encrypted, and built with screen-reader users in mind.
New in v5:
• Per-peer volume, pan and EQ — mix everyone individually, perfect for jamming together
• Multi-track recording — capture each person on their own track
• Customisable UI — light/dark theme, reorderable tabs

What's the deal with the NVDA battery status readout? sometimes it seems to work and sometimes not. sometimes it's just completely silent. I've seen this behavior before but for the life of me I can't work out why it does it. Anyone else have an idea?

So I just tried to create a new Gmail account and was told I need to scan a QR code. I cannot do this on my own as ya know, no eyesight. no other optoin was given. the other day I tried to sign into chrome and had to complete an audio challenge where the audio was so garbled that a sighted person then had to complete a visual challenge for me. That took 4 attempts. Google, what the hell are you playing at and why do you insist on making your services so inaccessible? it's 2026. This is not acceptable.

Free, accessible Windows tools I make in my spare time.
RemSound — live audio between PCs at low enough latency to jam in real time, in Opus or uncompressed PCM, over WASAPI and ASIO:

Loving the comments from people using my programs in the wild, glad you're finding them useful.
So, have 2 new releases:
RemSound 3.0.1 — low-latency peer-to-peer audio between Windows PCs. WASAPI and ASIO at the same time, quick switch profiles and mixing of multiple inputs and outputs, ability to record, Opus or uncompressed PCM. screen-reader friendly and perfect for musicians wanting to jam or people who want to control machines and even play games remotely.

Remote Speech Control 0.8.0 — NVDA add-on that mutes the controlled machine during NVDA Remote sessions, so you don't get doubled audio when using something like RemSound. Even allows you to adjust the settings of your synths whilst controlling a remote machine, for those times you simply have to turn the volume up or down without switching.

With the help of Claude Code, I've built two Windows utilities:

**RemSound** — sends audio between PCs at very low latency. Mixes multiple soundcards and runs ASIO and WASAPI side by side. Designed to be screen-reader friendly.
https://github.com/Ednunp/RemSound/releases

**remoteSpeechControl** — NVDA add-on that mutes a remote-controlled machine's speech so you don't get doubled audio when listening to that machine's sound via RemSound or similar.

Both on my GitHub: https://github.com/Ednunp — feedback welcome!

Does anyone here use Sonobus between computers to transmit and listen to audio? I can't seem to get it working and I must be honest it's not always obvious what the app is doing as it's not the most accessible thing. i have it installed on 2 computers but no audio is coming from the remote one. or at least, I don't hear it on the one that's supposed to be recieving, but it's very possible I've not ticked or selected something. they are both connected to the same private group.

Hi all, just wanted to share a demo of the audio game I'm building with Chat GPT, SpaceBlaster. I'm far from done, more features, enemies and weapons to come. If you're interested in testing this, let me know. Comments welcome.

Fellow blind internet users, I have a question. I would like to undertake several tech exams including the Azur AI practitioners 900. I can access the learning material online through Pluralsite via my company. However, the exams are run by Pearsonview, who take over and lock your laptop into the test. I worry this will break NVDA. Pearsonview do not seem to understand what being blind is, it frightens them. Has anyone done this before or can suggest an alternative? if possible I'd like not to have to travel to a place to take the exam. Please booste.

At night, when the pounding in my head eases off slightly, when the huge spikes of pressure and pain in my ears retract just a little bit, when I can hear more than feel all the bass frequencies I've lost over the years and continue to lose, that is the good time. I crank up my headphones and I try to enjoy all the sound that I've lost. Just for an hour or so, before exhaustion and tiredness overtakes me. Then I sleep. And when I wake up, it's all gone again and the pain is back.

How do I stop tweescake sending me emails every time I get a mention? I can't see how to do it in the client or on the tweescake site.

Challenge of the day. Prove to me, as a blind person, that the earth is round and not flat.

Hi. Does anyone know if synology DSM 7 is usable for a screen reader? 6 is quite nice but I'm wondering if 7 is just as accessible.

I cannot believe both the my Starkey and Oticon hearing aid apps are either partly, or fully inaccessible. wTF guys, I know deffness and blindness are not the same but honestly, could you not have tested these before you rolled them out? do you not think blind people might need to use hearing aids at some point in their lives? and might, just might want to change the settings on thoes hearing aids?

Does anyone know how to contact a reviewer on applevis? looking to contact a guy called Travis Roth.

So, are there any NVDA ad ons to make the facebook messenger app for windows a bit nicer to use? it reads, kind of but isn't the best. for example browsing the chat list you can't read the last message.
