I have one, but via a weird series of events.

My cell provider offers free <service name> for a year, but I can't take advantage of it, because shit's broken on their end, for me in particular. Instead, I have it through a promotion I got a decade ago that gave me an OBD2 WiFi device and a free line for it (with 2GB free per month!) for life, but also roadside assistance as a consequence of other stuff, for some reason.

I had a need for it once and happened to remember it, and sure enough, in comes the truck, sans bill.

@north yes, we have a big one in the Netherlands ANWB, basically roadside assistance for anything with wheels. They are very good, they will send someone to help you out, no matter where you are in the world, or find you a place you can limp to, if your vehicle is having issues and can still drive under it's own power

@north used it. Once with a hire company where a tyre was replaced and the whole experience was not too bad.

And once when our engine overheated on a hill going through the lake District and the guy upsold us a tow home for a "lot" of money. And it turned out that no-one could provide that service anyway. So after 5 hours and lots of phone calls we just drove a hundred miles home at about 30mph, with lots of stops to pour water into the broken radiator.

Put in a reclaim the following day
