@codinghorror I welcome any innovation that tries to help, this separates the budgeting from the choosing.
We tried a similar experiment on Giva for one to one giving, where company donation was made already then staff got to allocate based on their preference.
The problem there was getting peeps to actually choose and we ended up with an auto allocate heuristic for people who didn't choose. The fund aspect of this is quite a nice angle, as unspent funds would grow, but I'd rather they flow.
@codinghorror I will say that daffy.org has helped me focus on “I have this pile of money that I want to give out” in a way that just budgeting it from within my normal bank account/finances never did. But the DAF is an almost completely inconsequential implementation detail of that, at least for me.
