“If you know anybody with any resources, give them a copy of this book.” fair enough, let me do that once upon a time called right now

The php vulnerability is as bad as they come. Been working on it for a few days now. Will have a blogpost about it on the Crowdstrike blog tomorrow

I've given up on finding my life's work.

I build projects one after another, keep each for as long as it works, and close it when it stops. I care about the body of work, not any single monument.

My rule for keeping a project: it has to make money, teach me something, or give me real enjoyment. If I go three months without any of those, I stop.

The highest-paying tech companies tend to have fewer employees with long tenures. Apple, Google, Amazon & LinkedIn are outliers.

In my experience, it’s a combination of highly driven people who are constantly chasing their next big career opportunity and a pace of work that’s unsustainable for many

Who makes the world? We do ... if we can get off our asses long enough to do the actual hard work that is necessary.

I just remembered Die Broke (1998), a book my father recommended to me soon after it came out. Key concept: Spend your money while you’re alive instead of leaving a large inheritance. Use your wealth to enjoy life and provide for your loved ones in meaningful ways during your lifetime. Reject the idea of hoarding wealth for future generations; instead, invest in experiences and meaningful connections.

(I personally would add that "your loved ones" should include a broad swath of humanity, not just a thinly veiled tax dodge "charitable trust" with no stated goals or timeline controlled by your three 60+ year old children. I am not talking about anyone in particular, of course 🤔)

ok the good news is this movie is a straight masterpiece, but the bad news is it has crashed my brain and I need to reboot

This is gonna be.. interesting.

Congrats to #TheOnion

Also, Rockwell's "Somebody's Always Watching Me" is anxiety pop for sure. "I'm afraid to wash my HAIH!" @jk

… because whatever it used to cost, I’m pretty sure we can’t afford it any more.

CORE MEMORIES UNLOCKED

Here is a side-by-side of the sim and my actual cockpit photo of the Alaska 737 it was based on parked in the same place (Alaska Maintenance Hangar at SeaTac).

I am very proud of my 3d printed closet plane

I think I’m done with everything on it for now. Well, until tomorrow when I think of something else.
