The Accessibility Compat Data project run by @lolaodelola is a vital and much-needed resource. Let's fund it. #a11y https://ericwbailey.website/published/the-accessibility-compat-data-project-has-a-homepage-now-and-you-should-support-the-project/
Have an ACCESSIBILITY.md file in your GitHub repo? It now shows up on the project root! Don't have one? Why not take some time today to create one. #a11y https://ericwbailey.website/published/github-repository-landing-pages-now-show-an-accessibility-tab-if-provided/
Breaking out of front-end content also foster awareness of new considerations. This helps to remind attendees about the reason behind why we do all this: The people who benefit. https://inclusivedesign24.org/2026/schedule/#talk10
I am also proud to help facilitate an event that is openly progressive at a time when it is not in vogue to do so.
We strive to provide a diversity of both voices and topics.
Having a conference talk on your résumé can open doors. That can be huge if you are just getting started in your career. 24 talk slots means there's a lot of chances for that to happen.
Now that hosting is done and I've got a night's sleep and the adrenaline past me, a little love letter to Inclusive Design 24: The goal of the conference isn't profit or advertising, it's access, education, and enablement. #a11y #id24 https://inclusivedesign24.org/2026/schedule/
I have a lot of feelings about the whole CSS-Tricks debacle. Here's me trying to be constructive about it. https://ericwbailey.website/published/css-tricks-could-be-a-co-op/
I wrote about new ways to better rate Netflix content. https://ericwbailey.website/published/a-proposal-for-new-netflix-content-rating-icons/
Well, GitHub is down again (day that ends in y), but when it is back up: New Repositories now have a new default Issue label for "Accessibility".
This update addresses a longstanding gap and helps to normalize accessibility as a primary consideration.
Demo video and description in the GitHub repository, and more info in this blog post: https://ericwbailey.website/published/announcing-what-cant-i-press/
I made an app! What Can't I Press helps you discover what keyboard shortcuts are already claimed by running apps, with a focus on screen readers.
This helps prevent you from overriding something someone might rely on to get what they want or need. #a11y https://github.com/ericwbailey/what-cant-i-press
Here's some thoughts and feelings about needing to vibe code to do accessibility design work. https://ericwbailey.website/published/the-case-for-an-accessibility-designer-vibe-coding-when-all-his-coworkers-are-also-vibe-coding/
With thanks/condemnation to @aardrian and some other friends for suggestions.

It is probably not the smartest thing to channel your anxiety into the place where you curate your professional representation online, but also here's a future I would really like to avoid. https://ericwbailey.website/published/evolved-antennas-llm-generated-code-and-a-potential-antifuture/

I'd like to acknowledge that part of you that doesn't think you're ready to give a talk and say that you are. #id24 is a great way to share your knowledge with a global audience, and we'd love to have you pitch us.
ARIA is inevitable when you work on web accessibility. Here's everything I wish someone told me when I first got started, presented at @webexpo in Prague on May 28th. #a11y https://webexpo.net/prague2026/sessions/eric-bailey-2026/
A post on social media promoting a post I wrote. https://ericwbailey.website/published/a-compelling-title-that-is-cryptic-enough-to-get-you-to-take-action-on-it/
I wrote for @zeroheight about the types of things automated accessibility checks can't detect when auditing and evaluating your design systems for accessibility.

I wrote about some nuance involved with annotating focus order, following a conversation with @annaecook where we realized we'd both been running across the same well-intentioned behaviors. #a11y https://ericwbailey.website/published/you-probably-shouldnt-be-annotating-focus-order/
It is a lot more complicated to add keyboard shortcuts to your web app than you might initially think, featuring a big honkin' table. #a11ty https://ericwbailey.website/published/how-an-accessibility-designer-adds-keyboard-shortcuts-to-a-web-app/
