@corbden That's a whole chunk of it! But I also think it's weird we shove kids into buildings (which they cannot leave and force them into rooms where they cannot leave even within the building) where, like, 90% of the population are also kids and there are very few options for adult mentors (and if they don't get along with any of them because they have limited numbers of adults with whom they can connect during that time, they are effectively stuck in a building where they may not feel safe or even cared for).

It's just a whole mess of nonsense about how we teach people to relate to each other... and then we pretend that it's a functional structure that allows kids to grow up into the adults that they're expected to be... even though they're not given many examples of what it even means to "be an adult" (or even what it can look like across multiple ages to "be a part of the community you're in").
