Is a 1 hour commute by bus into the city and back home worth it to save on gasoline and $22 in parking per day?
This is compared to an estimated 10-20 minute drive per day according to Google Maps that doesn't seem to consider accidents or congestion

@witix FWIW I do feel like I'd be very stressed out driving in a very busy city considering:
I've never done city driving before
I'd be doing it during rush hours
And you gotta get to work on time

I thought driving alone would pay off by being much less stressful for you, but if you can save both money and your mental health then I think losing 30-45 minutes is totally acceptable

@witix only thing I may stress about is crime possibility as well my nearest city has some pretty high crime numbers from what I've read but locals say it's very "block by block" which is uh... "information" I guess

Checkups and maintenance (seasonal tire changing for one) also apply, and if your car inevitably breaks down that's another big spend to add to the list
I just wish neoliberalism didn't constantly try to put public transit out of serivce.
@witix oh I'd be using my parents' SUV if I drove. my mom was like "oh I can drive you back and forth" but she can't be on time for shit so I may want to avoid that option
@witix Also that $22 in parking would mean I'd basically be paying my employer an hour of my time for the privilege of parking in their garage
