anyway i read the first few and was like, "this is a good start, id like to see how this develops and progresses," only to find that later books neither develop nor progress anything interesting.

if anything, the later books seem simpler, less kinky, and less transgressive than the first few. the series gets quieter and safer.

book 7 was a het romance where he loved her from the start and pursued her and she… also loved him from the start? zero darkness, zero character conflict.
