Random PSA: if you know anyone who has a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or spinal cord injury (SCI), there's an online forum called CareCure full of people who either have the same condition or are caring for folks who do. It's been around a long time (since 2001) and is old school: just people talking to people. No ads. No AI. Over 1M posts and about 20K unique users.
By best friend was injured in a motorcycle accident 20 years ago and the site basically saved his life. Suddenly in a wheelchair with no idea how to do all this new self-care or do his life chores differently, he met a bunch of great people who helped him with emotions, practical stuff, and friendship. I recommend it to anyone with SCI or TBI in their lives.
It was originally founded by the Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience at Rutgers University, so it was created by people who really know this topic. Today is independent of them, and it's just people helping people.
