It turns out my methods for solving math(s) problems are broadly aligned with the oft-maligned "common core" methods that so many people seem to hate. Does that retroactively compensate for all the times I was told I was "wrong," chastised, etc. while I was going through the education system? Nope! That shit has stuck with me--probably in ways that I don't even recognize.

I agree with the thrust of this post but there is a clear split between "being able to defend your work" and "show your work as it's applied within education." The former is part of being a responsible adult performing a job for which they are well qualified; the latter is largely dependent upon your ability to work within arbitrary restrictions or ways of thinking that have a tendency of being proven ineffective or ableist decades after the trauma has already been inflicted upon students whose brains work differently.
imagine writing a heartfelt post about finding a writing, editing, or community-related position that doesn't have my usual anti-LLM sentiment because I have to provide for my family and was stupid enough to build a career around writing instead of, like, welding or something. wouldn't that be silly?
