I was invited to a house party today, so I'm currently charging my gamedad and re-organizing my roms so that I don't feel entirely out of place in a nearly stranger's home surrounded by actual strangers.
Believe it or not, I've been doing that *while* writing that far too long thread about the music I was listening to as I did it.
Today has been a great day for dicking around on nothing of significance.
House party was, in fact, a creek party. We had paella. Now I'm grateful for a/c.
(If you're curious, I've moved on from John Mayall and I'm now listening to Mick Taylor era Rolling Stones.)
I should probably charge my headphones.
I hate that that is a phrase that makes any kind of sense.
Headphones should be wired.
If you're curious, when I have the luxury of using wired headphones I tend to use a par of Grado sr80s. For about a decade this is what I wore out, whether I was listening to my cellphone or a cassette deck or a CD player (this is also when I was primarily using my #zinestation HP Omnibook as my main laptop when I wasn't at work, I carried a chunky bag) but I found their wireless cans to be too big for my current portable rig, so these days I keep two pairs of Koss Portapros on me, one wired and the other wireless. They came with little carrying cases that make the two about the same size as my old Grados.
I keep the wired ones with my omnibook and my cassette deck in a bag that almost never leaves my house, and the wireless ones with my gamedad and laptop in my Space Patrol backpack.
I should really abandon the stones for Canned Heat or for one of Abu Talib's solo records.
My streaming service doesn't have a copy of the coming atlantis, and I don't remember if I have one anymore, so I guess I'm going for Canned Heat.
Starting with Boogie With Canned Heat, which isn't their first album but (IMO) should have been
@ajroach42 I've got bluetooth headphones with a 3.5mm trrs hole!
They still don't work unless charged 😑
@ifixcoinops I have a pair like that and it's somehow the worst of all worlds.
