Messi is funny to me because the guy could legitimately be your grocer; nothing about him seems extraordinary at all. But put him on a soccer pitch and he will literally own your soul while nutmegging you over and over again and I think that is very amusing on some deep and spiritual level.
Like, Ronaldo? That guy is on some level a Greek statue of a God. You look at him and your brain is like "yeah, THIS guy? Might be the greatest soccer player on Earth."
Messi? That guy might be here to do your taxes. And that's what makes watching him play soccer so magical.
