Thank you @sovtechfund for investing in FLOSS🩷
@Kriptolix Hi, yes it's native GTK on Android! GTK got an Android backend some time ago and there's Pixiewood which does a lot of the glue stuff for Android and then the rest is on you, especially on patching libraries (see some of the patches I had to do https://codeberg.org/GeopJr/Tuba/pulls/1659)
Eventually I'll write a blog post / guide, but it still needs a lot of work (for non-C/Vala, for gstreamer, for difficult libraries etc)
@GeopJr @Kriptolix yeah, I wish we could get Maps on Android eventually (I guess we would need to abstract the location services, which is currently using GeoClue)
@GeopJr @Kriptolix this is amazing! Is there a build of this anywhere we could start playing with?
@liaizon For Tuba, in its matrix room until I set up the CI!
@GeopJr @Kriptolix Wow, many thanks! I really love Tuba and will be great to have it on Android! When and where (F-Droid or just APK) did you plan the release?
@andrewblasco I'll make the CI build and upload it on every commit, but I'll refrain from adding it to fdroid yet, it's really not ready for prime time or anything other than a tech demo :p I have uploaded an apk on Tuba's matrix room
@GeopJr Oookei, thanks!
@GeopJr @andrewblasco Maybe it's good idea to set up a custom FDroid repo for GNOME apps (similar to gnome-nightly), if there are more Android ports in the future?
Though I guess it's far too early for discussions about it now.
@gnome the links to peoples matrix posts or accounts seem to all be broken in this article
