OK, the MNT Quasar 6490 Processor Module is here, check it out! https://shop.mntre.com/products/mnt-quasar-6490-processor-module
Thanks to @LinaroLtd and especially @cas for working on this with me, and @nlnet (through NGI0 Core) for helping us fund this most complex module yet! And thanks to @holo_memory for preparing the launch.
One badly worded internet conversation in like 2022 and I'm cut off from interacting with thousands of people
Has anyone had any luck getting their account removed from an instance defed list?
My pre-ASCII art / pictorial typography / text art archive site is out now!
People have been making ASCII-like text art on letterpress for over 300 years, building pictures entirely out of metal type, ornaments, and rule. The practice has often been dismissed as "tasteless", "wasted effort" and "nothing to do with art", which is why I think it's gone largely undocumented. So, I've spent the last 8+ years collecting ~2500 of these works into an archive. Thanks to @adelfaure, who developed the site, it's now online for everyone to browse:

Also cool to see @criticaldatalab is present here, I wasn't aware of their work
⚠️ The FSFE has submitted its position to the @EUCommission's Android interoperability consultation under the #DMA
The FSFE is calling for the following, among other things:
🔹 the right to fully uninstall AI-based features from Android devices,
🔸 and access to interoperability functions for developers free from #Google verification requirements
https://github.com/LawnchairLauncher/lawnchair/issues/4290 @Edent I remembered you commented on this one last year but it seems nothing has changed here, did you figure out a way to remove these annoying browser badges?
Are there any Android launchers that allow changing the icons of PWAs?
Anyone have a link to a good overview of Hyprland (and or its maintainer Vaxry) problematic-ness? Ran I to a friend running it last night and they hasn't heard any of the meta so wanted to forward them a synopsis.
update: https://drewdevault.com/blog/Hyprland-toxicity, if you have any other sources feel free to add them

No wikipedia entry for this particular fescue, but I'll bet it is one of the mountain-dwelling ones!
Are there folks here who know anything about #textiles?
I've been buying bamboo clothing lately because I really like the feel of it and it's the first fabric in a while that I find consistently pairs well with my sensory issues.
As a bonus, the bits that I could find seemed to indicate that it was pretty sustainable but I know that a lot of the market copy for products can be pretty prone to green-washing and I honestly can't seem to get a reliable answer on the matter.
My gut says that it's likely to be somewhat sustainable because of how quickly bamboo grows and replenishes but for all I know the chemicals necessary to turn it into a fabric are so toxic that it outweighs any potential positive impact it might have.
Anyway, putting that out there, curious if there are folks here who actually know about how its made. My search engine works just fine so I'm hoping to hear from folks who know about it and aren't in the same boat as me, reading random articles we find on the internet.
don't forget there are a quite a lot of crypto people with large amounts of money walking around among us
My laptop by @mntmn arrived today. It was the most satisfying hardware unpacking I ever did. Just look at those colors, and the acrylic bottom plate, and the track ball, and the mechanical keyboard.
Booted, went through the owner setup (keyboard layout, timezone, passwords) and had a working laptop.
And every piece is open source and maintainable.
Any email clients for Android that are good? I'm not super happy with Thunderbird
