I just found my car keys that had been missing for ten days.
In my bag.
Where I usually keep them.
That I checked 3 times
and my wife checked twice.
And I still don’t know why I walked into the kitchen.
Someone hand me my metamucil.

eventually we all reach that stage where our most common exclamation is "why did i come into this room again?"... :)
@paco sounds like you were the victim of a heist, to me
@novelgazer Yes: a crime where I was the victim, the investigator, and the prime suspect!
@paco i am still stuck on that picture of you with hair. I... I thought we were both members of the Balden Bros(tm) with gold lifetime memebrship cards.
@drmorrisj Nope. They say if you go grey early you keep it. And I went grey really early. I’ve been like this for years and years.
@paco hi, are you me?
@paco also I figure you are at least younger than your namesake
@ricci I bet that Paco has never lost a set of car keys, despite being much older than me!
@paco idk parrots can be pretty tricky, maybe it hid them
My sincere apologies for laughing so hard at this.
@Edelruth in this case, if you’re laughing at me you’re also laughing with me.
@paco Best i can do is Methylphenid...
@paco Hopefully they weren’t actually missing for 10 days because someone “borrowed” them to make copies and then waited for an opportunity to “return” them when you weren’t looking.
@Kimota94 If they can duplicate these modern-ass key fobs then I’m in trouble. And then they knew exactly where to put them back so I wouldn’t suspect a thing!
We have learned to check the linings of bags, suitcases, jackets, pants, and shirts. Because thats where we have found keys and mobile phones.
@paco
They obviously fell into a pocket universe and had to be retrieved by the key fairies.
@paco please check your bag for my recently purchased glasses, which have been lost for the last two weeks.
@paco You've seen Gary Larson's cartoon of the "car key gnomes"?
My own (new) solution is a Motorola Moto2 tag. Wife mislaid an uninsured electronic car key that would cost a mere €600 to replace. It was found eventually wedged in the toe of a boot in a wardrobe underneath an upside-down back pocket. A boot we both shook earlier.
Tip: the tag is almost identical physically to Apple AirTag so holders for those work. Otter brand work well. Tag location can be shared w one person eg husband+wife
