Jul 8, 2026, 6:04 PMMy occupational therapist had an interesting response to the idea in my previous post, about worrying that things I find enjoyable might "stop working" so I avoid doing them.
She said that when she feels that way, she tells herself that if the activity no longer feels helpful, that might be because it's done it's work and she's ready to move on to the next thing, having gotten enough from that thing.
Definitely something for me to think about!
(also so awesome to have an autistic therapist who is speaking from her own experience)
