I finally added a ruffle/flounce to the white dress I made recently. I think it turned out quite well!
I remembered that I had an old striped viscose dress in my stash after it got a bit thin in places (so wearing it was just waiting for a disaster to strike and tear a massive hole in it)... But a ruffle doesn't need to be strong, so this works. 😄
