I finally added a ruffle/flounce to the white dress I made recently. I think it turned out quite well!

I remembered that I had an old striped viscose dress in my stash after it got a bit thin in places (so wearing it was just waiting for a disaster to strike and tear a massive hole in it)... But a ruffle doesn't need to be strong, so this works. 😄

It's amazing how some hot, salty and greasy food can improve my mood. 🤤

The cat cuddles also helped, but she was confused why I would wake her up for head pats so she started vigorously cleaning herself. 😅

For about six months now I’ve been seeing a new sign, plain yellow on black in a bold block font “DEEP GROCERY AND SPICE”. They seem to be sticking around; must be good stuff. I resolve to drop in next time I need Indian spices.

The girl in the tank behind the counter tells me that Brisbane actually has the second highest Deep One population of any city above sea level. You really must try their spices.

How many repos on there are full of trojans and viruses? How do you know that your super-productive LLM isn't copying *those* instead of the canonical version of whatever frameworks it's building? How do you know there isn't a malicious actor out there spamming Github with throwaway projects that're chock full of their malware, hoping the next LLM training pass picks it up?

To the person who suggested putting an emergency mylar blanket over the window (my apologies, can't find you comment anymore), wow that worked well. The indoor temp dropped 4C in 15 minutes, and that was with no direct light aimed at the window. I'm surprised that extent of solar energy was coming through. Nice hack, and one that is easy/cheap to do.

Edited to add: I always thought those blankets are opaque, so expected the effect to be like a blackout curtain. But it turned out they are more like a tinted car window. The amount of light is notably reduced, and the residual light bleeds through with an orange tint. But when there's light outside as backlight, the view across the street is still clear and detailed -- just darker. At night it's effectively opaque. (Though don't make any assumptions re privacy since now the interior is what would be backlit.)
