@ben I actually think this is another example of Trump’s animal genius at finding a simplistic idea that will connect with a lot of his voting base. The fact that it’s totally wrong is irrelevant. He’s leveraging decades of propaganda drilled into boomers and Gen X that SOCIALISM = COMMUNISM = EVIL. Like his attacks on trans rights, this is going to score with a lot of people, and I hate to say is going to be hard to fight with oligarchic interests massively amplifying it for obvious reasons.
