Columbo and his battered Citroen would have me bang to rights before I even knew.

Columbo is far cleverer than he lets you think. He's a cat with a toy mouse, and never gives up. The best you can hope for is it's the exception where he takes pity on you and lets you go.
Morse, while good, just isn't someone I'm scared of.
