@faraiwe if I'm using Linux, I think I want to be using systemd. However indojt want to use Linux because it's slopcode.

@mcc @faraiwe I thought there were a few distros not using systemd, been wanting to find a list of distros committed to avoiding slop and excluding age verification APIs (and therefore not using systemd)

@mcc @faraiwe welp. Maybe it’ll be easier to choose a BSD distribution, since there aren’t quite as many of them

@mcc for whatever it's worth, using BSD is reputedly a pleasure. A bit more work but generally more pleasant.
(I'm planning to get quite a bit more into it in 2026.)

@gnomon I don't want my operating systems to be "pleasurable" i just want them to get out of my way :( the only thing i want to spend a lot of time tinkering with is a programming language environment
