We hear a lot about carbon capture from the supporters of fossil fuel exploitation, so here's Ben Jennings (Guardian) with a suggestion many of us here would endorse....

Whenever there is an oil supply shock, private planes should be grounded immediately.
@TCatInReality @ChrisMayLA6 I think your sentence has an extra clause.
That is the best solution because you could raise the cost of their jet fuel by a factor of 10 and they would not even notice it
Speaking of private jets... From this morning's local news-
North Las Vegas hangar owners to meet with airport officials over lease concerns
The meeting comes as airport officials consider plans to expand one of the runways to accommodate larger private jets flying into Southern Nevada for large events.
We should start by, in good time, disposing of fossil fuel company executives' bodies in semi-liquid form, pumped under pressure into old oil wells and perhaps in solid form in coal mines.
@ChrisMayLA6
Right next to the Hummer impound?
@ChrisMayLA6 Great idea!
@ChrisMayLA6
Yeah!
Hey, that'd work with gas-powered cars too!
@ChrisMayLA6 Is it... getting too risky to... penal tech bros eyes?..
@ChrisMayLA6 guillotines are very green and eco friendly
@ChrisMayLA6 These planes are actually too small for the current crop of billionaire owners, so this looks like they have been scrapped for bigger ones. I do NOT understand why it takes a mini-airliner and a hired pilot to fly one billionare anywhere.
Elon Musk's private jet is reported to get just under ONE MPG! Per-person fuel economy of a typical fully loaded commercial jetliner with hundreds of passengers is closer to 40MPG.
I've heard of a one person micro plane (prop not jet, Rutan was it?) that can get 50+ MPG at about 80mph and almost as much at over 100mph, as the crow flies. Of course you have to do your own flying to use it, it's not big enough for a passenger.
@ChrisMayLA6 Where is the yacht impoundment?
@jCarttarBrooke @ChrisMayLA6 on that sentiment, friend of mine shared this just the other day.
@aacUR8 @jCarttarBrooke @ChrisMayLA6 A classic "aim higher" image.
I’d like to see Gina Rinehart’s planes in the Australian lot.
@ChrisMayLA6
Just fly first class. Assholes
What a waste, leaving those planes unused in a lot. Instead, fly them to Ukraine.
Those clever folks will make cruise missiles out of the engines and blow up Russian oil refineries. Win / Win / Win!
@ChrisMayLA6 Lock up people who start wars. Wars are massive carbon emitters and if earthlings had any sense we'd ban them.
@ChrisMayLA6 it’s a billion dollar capture idea. Capture the billionaire.
@ChrisMayLA6 eppure abbiamo poveri che tifano i ricchi
Indeed we do; the rich's trick is to make the poor think the rich are helping them by being rich....
