😍 Awww! (Hare fan here).
@petewalkden
Nice to see head first.
@petewalkden This is an amazing photo!!
@petewalkden that's a belter of a photo! It really shows how big and solid they are. Also how small their brains are...
@petewalkden
Hazel?
Well now I know what it's like to be grass living in fear. Or IDK maybe young lettuce shoots.
Never has "I'm gonna nibble" been so intimidating.
@petewalkden I read that as “lollypopping” at first and thought, well that sounds fun too
@petewalkden here hare here.
Love these guys - got spooked by one in a field in Berkshire one time. It's the only time I've seen one up close, usually they're just belting across a field in the distance.
Great picture.
@petewalkden Great shot!
@petewalkden Hares are wonderful, magical animals. I still have a picture in my mind of three hares boxing in the Scottish Borders, 25 years ago. And yours is a fabulous photo.
@petewalkden I thought this was a kangaroo/joey at first glance! An unusual perspective on a hare.
@petewalkden the front feet (?) look like it is "walking" yet both back feet are in the air?? Seems strange (to me) or is that just "lolloping"?
Edit: nevermind, here is a great sequence: https://www.moorhen.me.uk/iodsubject/mammals_-_hare_03.htm#07
