    Responses to this meme/post are pretty polarized.

    While it's very possibly to criticise a person I might reference, it sure seems as if for most posting that just looking for ANY reason on earth to not condemn the genocide in Gaza?

    My next thought is, wow a random meme gets more "interaction" than my sober #OSINT posts.

    These days haven't posted much Gaza osint because its basically the same post for days: "its an active genocide committed by the US, UK and Israel".

    Doing OSINT on active war zones is pretty shit for your mental energy etc. And you know I guess its easier if we're all bickering about what some talking head tankie/apologia gossip instead of the brutal fact that clearly many would rather continue to ignore genocide.

    They are not content to ignore it alone, they need us all to ignore it with them

    During the #GazaDeal #GazaPier I posted extensively about the day to day violations of the Israeli's to this ceasefire.

    I thank many of the Ukrainian supporters in the comments and echo the usefulness of documenting and talking broadly about the realities of these conflicts.

    Fedi is an incredible tool to this end and grows stronger with each new instance.

    Yeah, well. The russians have already done those things in Ukraine. Caitlin Johnstone has also promoted pizzagate an q-anon conspiracy theories as well as as well as writing for Russia Today and is a spreader of Kremlin talking points.

    Eh. Yeah. Russia is a fascist state. This is not hyperbole, it is the most accurate description of the extremely nationalist, militarized, deeply corrupt state Putin and his clique has created.

    Your linked post shows that you either know too little about the situation in russia and ukraine or you are a russian troll.

    This isn't about Russia NOT doing bad things, its about how bad things Russia does do, do infact get reported as such.

    But the terrible things Israel and the US do gets very little critical coverage

    @nullagent @DuncanMSussex This is why I tend to re-word what others tell me, rather than repeat it directly (unless I'm explicitly aiming to amplify their viewpoint).

    I don't always spot all the nuance (which on occasion is very much opposed to the point I'm trying to make), and I don't like getting dragged into arguments about which public figure is or isn't a Bad Person when there are more important things at stake.

    Caitlin Johnstone is a fascist stooge that supports Russia. Russia is a fascist state that except the whole invading and murdering, raping and plundering ukraine also brutally opress all political opposition, all non heterosexuals and also more or less has legalized domestic violence.

    So the problem is that Caitlin Johnstone and other fascist enablers should have no room in any solidarity movement.

    As a reminder, in Ukraine, Russia has perfected attacks in "two waves".

    The first wave hits civilians and infrastructure.

    The second wave hits the firemen and rescue personnel who have started to intervene to rescue the civilians hit by the first wave.

    I am sure I can find similar examples for China and Iran.

    But, to be perfectly clear: what is happening right now in Gaza is a genocide and a stain on all of mankind and ESPECIALLY on western countries that are not acting.

    - Russové to dělají pro zábavu už roky.
    - Pokud by z toho konvoje stříleli na Čínu celé roky rakety, pak bych se asi nedivil.

    The responses to your post are yet another proof that white liberal imperialism is the dominant discourse on Mastodon (and maybe on the rest of the Fediverse, but that's harder to ascertain).

    This desperate propaganda to equate the war in Ukraine between NATO and Russia to the NATO-sponsored holocaust of the Palestinians is enraging.

    My post is simply to express solidarity with you, and to show that voices in support of your position exist on the Fediverse, if only as a tiny minority.

    I mean, Caitlin Johnstone doesn't care about people getting slaughtered in the Middle East as long as the right people do it: Assad, Putin, probably anyone else who isn't allied with the US.
