What would you say, are the quintessential Flash games?

Code reviewing was never the most interesting thing to do. But it had one important element. That, if done right, it was knowledge exchange between the reviewer and the coder. That can be quite motivating. Helping a fellow coder to become better. Reviewing "AI" written code does NOT come with that potential reward. The machine doesn't learn the way a human does. This turns code review into a menial, fruitless task that leads to frustration instead. That's my observation and opinion.

Random anime subs vs dubs thought

While I generally prefer subs to get the original acting and cadence there are shows out there with some pretty good dubs. There is one show though where I prefer the dub and that's Black Lagoon. Partially because it's really good but I think it also helps that the characters would most likely be speaking English given 3/4 of the main characters are from the USA.

As I get older, two things happen

1. My eyesight gets worse

2. Visual information is being progressively removed from user interfaces to a greater and greater degree, such that I need better eyesight to use the same apps to the same level of capability

Also, apps now frequently auto-update and move things around, just in case I wanted to learn to use the app by simply memorizing the positions of icons

Boosted already but this is just to say that "coders" at the same time complaining that "delete everything" in a comment can hobble an agent and is tantamount to criminal, and insisting that these things are Artificial Super Intelligence is exactly what Orwell was describing with Doublethinking: holding two absolutely opposite concepts in the mind at the same time and juggling one and the other ad hoc without ever considering that they're incompatible.

Though even in a joke post, I must note that most abuse of children happens from someone they know and trust. Most "pedo panic" nonsense is performative and has done great harm to our kids and friendships.

Kids can't go outside, adults can't talk to kids, men can't be seen with their own kids, etc. None of this is necessary. And it has not reduced abuse. Especially not when we make real predators president.

ETA: looks like a neuromatch problem and not universal thanks for the reports!

When I look at the bot's (@xkcdbot ) alttext from last night it's correct on the indieweb.social page, but as seen form my instance the alttext never updated. Could someone report back from a different instance to see if it did for you?

Normally I see it update pretty much as soon as I finish refreshing the page after I finish the edits. Disappointing if it's having an issue on one I spent a lot of time on.
