Wind and solar helped the UK avoid US$7.8 BILLION in gas imports during the Hormuz crisis.
That’s what breaking fossil fuel dependence looks like.
Governments backing more oil and gas owe people an explanation.
SCALE UP RENEWABLES.

@greenpeace thanks. Now we in Africa get the shit. All those batteries? Think they are GREEN? Ja ja. Strip mine my country for materials for that kak. I am surprised to see Greenpeace support this. Then again as a kid Greenpeace were my heros. They did not just talk and raise money.. they DID stuff. Like spiking trees, even drove into a whaler!
@greenpeace Meanwhile cars, EVs, and normal cars are poisoning us.
@StephenDedalus @greenpeace You aren't meant to eat them you know.
@ariaflame @greenpeace
Think respiratory illness is funny?
@StephenDedalus @greenpeace No. I think ignorance is sad, but not particularly funny.
@ariaflame @greenpeace
So, you're sad, then.
@StephenDedalus @greenpeace No, I teach about energy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy storage, and how energy is current taken from its primary sources, to the final consumption form, the losses that incurs and to some extent the emissions that are caused by each. I teach about Life Cycle analysis of various things including buildings, in terms of the emissions they cause. Implying that EVs give off as many emissions as ICE vehicles is either ignorant or misleading. Bye.
The scale of the wealth transfers from democracies to petrostate despots & oil oligarchs is nearly unimaginable.

It needs to stop. Keep that wealth at home.
@greenpeace We even throw a massive amount of generation away because we cannot ship it south or store it. Free energy as a public national resource. Give every UK household an effective 10% pay raise. What a no-brainer competitive advantage for UK (and European) business! Leave it all in the ground/sea bed and make sure everyone else does too by not needing it.
Imagine if they couldn't fight over oil anymore...
