The feeling when showing somebody how Windows+Shift+S lets you do screenshots on Windows. So good!

That reminds me that one day, not so long ago, we realized that my wife's father doesn't know about Copy & Paste! When we used to copy some stuff, he was amazed! Sadly, I think he has forgotten about it again. He's over eighty so I don't blame him. It does make me wonder how we'll cope with all this digital shit that we've been introducing into the world, ensuring our disablement in the future. Yikes.

@alex It's certainly a reason some folks are going to regret not working hard to ensure things are accessible right from the idea stage... Everyone always thinks it's never going to affect them.

@ml I already started regretting my choice of font-size, decades ago. We are all disabled, eventually. The earlier we learn about this, the better it will be for all of us. I'm ashamed to admit that I only started appreciating these lessons on fedi, which coincided with me approaching fifty and eye-sight starting to deteriorate. Before that, it was just something about contrast and the use of colors on the web that I knew about but that I didn't feel in my bones. Now I do, with dread. So much regret.

@alex Sadly, it seems to be a pretty common thing that humans tend not to really "get" it until it happens to them. Not universally, but it is very common, even despite good intentions.

@deshipu I do! In fact both laptops in front of me still do. I have no idea what it does these days. Screenshots!? Hardcopies? On this laptop I'm on right now it seems to have no effect. Assuming that I even found the correct key combo.

@alex On XFCE at least it brings up the screenshot dialog, by default. I think it's similar on GNOME and KDE. Macs had a key combination that generated a PDF with the contents of the screen, if I remember correctly, but I don't know what that combination was, as obviously they miss the Print Screen key and a few other important keys from their keyboards. Windows makes screenshots automatically every couple of seconds anyways these days.
