@stux And they’re selling you a life that can’t exist without a “brain” you rent from them that sucks down way more water

We have become the "almost upper class" after 50 years of investing and saving. We still live in our "starter" home and I drive a 14 year old car, tho. With luck we'll get through retirement and leave a nice sum to our kids and be able to help out those who need it. I've helped two lovely trans ladies get to Canada and put youngests girlfriend through college, for instance

I hate people with wealth who still whine about paying fair wages and paying their taxes so others can simply live.

It would be great if the weather hadn't turned hotter than fuck here. And if it was at all walkable or had decent transit. And if housing was affordable for anyone else.

THANKS TRUMP KEEP BURNING THOSE FOSSIL FUELS AND CUTTING TRANSIT BUDGETS

@stux We had a politician in Ireland a long time ago - he was leader of the Labour Party and was accused of being a “Champagne Socialist”. His response: “Absolutely. I believe everybody should be able to drink Champagne!”

for 8 years I made enough to make mistakes. that's really the difference between poor and not poor. when you can barely cover your expenses, buying new things is a massive gamble. if the new thing turns out to be crap you're stuck with it until you can get a different one, if ever.
