It often feels like #startrek and #starwars have such vitriolic fanbases but not hours after #Amazon announcing Jac Schaeffer is the new showrunner attached to #stargate people are already writing it off and bitching about them dropping Martin Geros series and claiming it will be "woke" 🙄
Fandom doesn't know what it wants, but maybe the internet was a bad idea for it
@gnuplusmatt Somehow I missed the news in June about Gero's relaunch of #Stargate being canned. Boo. I expected a better-than-even chance his show would be great.
I have no idea how Schaefer will do. It might be great. It might not. I've never been drawn into any of her work, so.... I hope it's great.
I'll give it the same chance I gave #SGU and #StarTrek Discovery. Those two didn't win my loyalty like #SG1, #SGA, and #SNW have.
@DanielMReck 2 of the producers from the Gero project are on this - it might even be a rework of his idea for more mass appeal.
