I doubt people will remember, but I asked if anyone could recommend a good electrician in North West Wales with some knowledge of Solar Panels.

Thanks to someone on Facebook, I found one, but no sooner had I found him than he was taken into hospital, and may well be still there as he is not answering calls or texts.

So...can anyone recommend someone else, please?

If you think I am being alarmist when (a little less frequently recently) I post about an impending AI-related correction (bust or crisis), I'd just like to point out that Bank of International Settlements is suggesting that as soon as people (investors) realise AI is not producing the astronomical returns promised by its prompters, investments are likely to pulled back & redirected producing a crisis as current sentient & prices are so reliant on the AI bubble... bust follows boom!

There can be little doubt that there are serious problems in NHS maternity provision stemming from (but not limited to) the frequent disregard of mothers' own voices about their pre-birth health....

This is both a structural issue (compounded by the ongoing NHS crisis) and reflects women' experience of society & its structures, silences & barriers?

However, the more that it reflects the wider social/gnedered malaise the more difficult it will be to resolve.

Did you know that Microsoft applied for a permit for a warehouse in southern Sweden - and once they had built the "warehouse" they declared they were going to host a datacenter there with diesel backup generators?

I mean, we hear this happening all the time and so let's hate on data centers, right?

The difference is that this is Sweden, and we don't accept that shit. They were not allowed to run their diesel generators, had to purchase battery power instead and in the end they closed the data center down since they couldn't win this fight.

That's how you deal with it.

(They are now using other datacenters in other locations in Sweden, fully compliant with the laws, with renewable energy and not using water for cooling as far as I can see)

It felt longer to me, but I had an ear infection (untreated) and the pain was dreadful. We went through a massive storm, too, which probably added to the length of the flight.

If you need to fly from London to Sydney it's a shame to miss an interesting stop on the way.

I don't have a very clear memory but I think our flight across the Atlantic in the 1950s took about 16 hours, maybe more? I remember lying on a cot to sleep.

Now they’re independent and preserving climate data, outside of political interference, with public support and a team of volunteer scientists.

We were supposed to be past the first of this heatwave. 5pm and my house is at 27.2c and outside is hotter.

I feel guilty every time someone has to deliver my shopping and clean my home.

France has just broken a new heat record on Wednesday, as sweltering temperatures choke Western Europe. Professor of Climatology and Environmental Sciences and Former IPCC Vice Chair, says that "unfortunately in the coming years people will remember this episode as a cool period".
