There can be little doubt that there are serious problems in NHS maternity provision stemming from (but not limited to) the frequent disregard of mothers' own voices about their pre-birth health....

This is both a structural issue (compounded by the ongoing NHS crisis) and reflects women' experience of society & its structures, silences & barriers?

However, the more that it reflects the wider social/gnedered malaise the more difficult it will be to resolve.

Birth has always been a desperate business.
A while back the midwives took over most antenatal care as well as intrapartum care. Then they found they were busy/there's a shortage.
From time to time a cell of midwives or a department with very definite and rather odd ideas comes to light.
    Usually after another disaster.
There are some very mad or bad influence(r)s on social media.

I find more people in the NHS listen to me then used to be the case. But not enough. It seems to be my 'age but still articulate', and (at least for others) I can use my senior manager persona.

My experiences of maternity services are traumatic.
