01/08/2026 - Afternoon walk from the house on the quiet roads. August already! It was sunny but we did have a few rain showers passing through, no bad thing. My head was in a better place by the end, the world seemed to be turning a little bit slower than at the start of the day. A nice stroll looking at nice things along the way.

@TheTiredHiker No bank holiday here. If you ever want to make your head hurt, try getting your head round bank and local holidays up here in Scotland. Each local council does its own thing. Aberdeenshire can be different to Aberdeen etc. I've booked the week off work anyway so all good. No work for 9 days sounds good to me at the moment 😀
@Spaceways oh that’s so confusing. Nine days off sounds nice though. Are you just chilling or planning adventures.
@TheTiredHiker A bit of both hopefully. I'm a bit achy just now but fingers crossed me and the weather will pick up later in the week. Tomorrow's forecast does look OK though so I might try a little adventure. I'd like some stars 😀

We are meeting a friend to join us on a walk tomorrow. We have a little adventure planned which should take us through the woods to a kite festival if all goes to plan.
@TheTiredHiker A walk through woods to a kite festival sounds just magic. I've never been to a kite festival, is that a regular thing?
@Spaceways tbh i don’t know. It’s somewhere that we’ve only recently been exploring even though it is fairly local. Weve always gone a bit further away to walk as we considered it too busy before now. We ended up there one day by accident and discovered it really was rather lovely and not actually that busy at all.
