Abide in Love is a faith based group doing the same thing in Rolla, #Missouri outside their #ICE concentration camp. They provide supportive notes and personal items for detainees and help them contact their families. These groups are a lifeline for people stuck in those horrible places. When possible, they also go inside and visit people.
You don't have to battle through tear gas and go toe to toe with ICE to make a huge difference for the detainees. Also, ICE freaks the fuck out about even the most peaceful of volunteers and protestors. Besides their primary mission, these groups still really get in ICE's head.

We all have to take breaks, but I do find that every time I drag myself back out there-- no matter how I am initially feeling-- it's an enormous mood boost to be around like minded people and see the impact we make.
